Climb at Olympos Turkey!

Last weekend we visited Olympos, Turkey. There is plenty of life at this place because of the great beaches and mountains. It is also a popular climbing destination in Europe.

We stayed 3 nights at a cool hostel that features tasty and healthy traditional food. The climbing crags are very close to the hostels.

Everyday we climbed different walls in the area.

We bought a book written by Öztürk Kayıkcı, a local climber to find ad identify the climbing routes. The most popular spots are Hörgüç Magara (cave) and Cennet.

It's a great place for sport climbing. The walls have very good friction and there are many different routes, ranging from moderate to very difficult.

The wall we liked the most was La Plaj (The Beach), but it was also the most scary. The views from the top were breathtaking – and the climbing too.

The environment is very dry, so plenty of water is needed all the time. In Turkey there is a typical drink called Ayran, very refreshing. Watermelons and oranges also help.

We had a blast in Olympos and look forward to come back to explore more.

What we did last weekend? We had fun in nature!
